The team will tee-off on 14th July at Belvoir Park Golf Club, where they hope to raise more than £2000 in sponsorship for the cancer care charity by playing four rounds of golf in just one day.

The four chose the charity as many of them have been touched by cancer. Michael Malone's grandfather and Gareth Colhoun's grandmother were cared for by the Macmillan Cancer Care Nurses.

Michael McGuire's aunt Gladys Morgan, from Lisburn, died from cancer recently and just a week ago Martin Cleland had a cyst removed from his throat.

Michael McGuire, a building control surveyor, said: "Cancer has touched all our lives over the last number of years and we all love playing golf so it seemed like the best way to raise a few pounds for a charity so essential for those diagnosed with cancer.

"We have had tremendous support from all our friends and family and I would like to give a special thanks to the Captain and Council of Belvoir for all their help and support."
