MOTORIST PUNCHED IN THE HEAD DURING ATTEMPTED HIJACKING

A MOTORIST has been punched in the head by two men as they attempted to hijack his car.
Police in Lisburn are appealing for information following the attempted hijacking on the Barnfield Road late on Friday night.

Around 11:30pm the owner of a Honda Civic was stopped by two men their 20s, both of medium build and both wearing dark clothing.

They tried to open the door of his vehicle in an attempt he believes to steal his car.

Following a short struggle, during which the driver was punched in the head, the culprits made off.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information is asked to contact police at Lisburn on 0845 600 8000. Information can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
