Around 80 members of the public attended the meeting on Tuesday night at Brook Activity Centre and were given the chance to present their questions and concerns to the Area Commander and his team on the policing of Lisburn, particularly in the Twinbrook and Poleglass area.
Commenting after the meeting, Lisburn DPP Chairman, Councillor Thomas Beckett said: "We are committed to holding our meetings in the heart of the communities around the city.
"This was the first time we have held the meeting in Twinbrook, and we hope that the local residents found the meeting useful.
"This was their opportunity to come and tell us what is good and what is not so good about policing in their area. We need to know what their issues are, in order to address them."
The Area Commander for Lisburn, Chief Inspector David Moore, delivered a detailed up to date report on policing in the area and answered questions raised by the public.
The main issues of concern raised at the meeting included anti-social behaviour, underage drinking, police response times, recent incidents in Stoneyford and confidence in the police service to provide a standard day-to-day policing service for all communities in Northern Ireland.
